Stage 2 Drought Condition

May 29, 2025

Even with recent rains, Stonewall and surrounding areas remain in a Stage 2 drought response. Our goal is to achieve a 20 percent reduction in total water use. Please observe the following restrictions:

  • Irrigate landscaped areas once weekly between the hours of 8pm - midnight or midnight - 10am. Use of a hand-held hose or drip irrigation system is permitted anytime with the previously stated hours.
  • Limit vehicle washing to weekly.
  • Restrict wash down of sidewalks, driveways and other hard-surfaced areas.
  • Repair leaks as soon as possible.

The complete Drought Contingency Plan for Stonewall WCID can be found here. Additional information on drought conditions in Gillespie County is published by the Hill Country Underground Water Conservation District and displayed on their website.
